Delicious Indian sweet Fox-nuts in Milk (Makhana Kheer)
Delicious Indian sweet Fox-nuts in Milk (Makhana Kheer)
Ingredients:
- 2 cups fox Nuts (Makhanas)
- 1 tsp purified butter (Ghee)
- 1/2 ltr milk
- 4 tbsp sugar (as desired)
- 1 tbsp shredded almonds
- 1 tbsp grated pistachios
- 1 tsp crushed green cardamom seeds
- 4-6 saffron threads.
Method:
- Add purified butter in a pan heat for a mins and add fox nuts (makhanas),
- Fry over a low heat for about 5 minutes,
- Now add shredded almonds heat for a min,
- Add milk and sugar and stir well,
- Leave to simmer for 30-45 mins, stir from time to time so that milk does not sticks to the bottom of pan,
- Now add pistachios and leave for 5 mins,
- Sprinkle crushed cardamom and saffron,
- Serve hot or cold, as desired.
